2010 NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO VIDEO FESTIVAL

What is this Festival all about?

In March 2010, VideoCom researchers from New Brunswick will be working with K-Net (www.knet.ca) in Sioux Lookout. We will also be travelling to two First Nation communities in the Sioux Lookout zone, one of which is Mishkeegogamang. The community visits will be an opportunity to learn and share information about using video, videoconferencing, and other information and communication technologies (ICT) for community, social and economic development.

The visits will include a Community Video Festival. It will be held in a community room with videoconference facilities. The video festival will be open to all community members, free of charge and VideoCom will provide refreshments. A community Elder will be invited to open and close the event. This will be a fun, educational event for the whole community to view short videos made by members of their community and others in the Sioux Lookout zone.

We are currently waiting for confirmation of the two communities who will host this event as well as searching for fresh videos.
